Internal hdds (different controller) -> enclosure = 75-90MB/sĬaching on the controller is configured as the following: if I copy a big file like the following:Įnclosure -> internal server hdds (different controller) = 70-90MB/s If I try to benchmark with CristalDiskMark I get a result arount 1200MB/s (which equals the max of the external SAS connection)Īlso I get simmilar results from the ATTO Benchmark (around 1250MB/s) The HP Controller Software is happy about the redundant sas connetion
So the connection looks like: Controller Port1 -> Enclosure1 -> Enclosure2 -> Enclosure3 -> Controller Port2 there is also a HP P421 controller which has 2 external miniSAS 6Gbit portsĪdditionally I have connected 2 HP MSA70 and one HP D2700 enclosures at this controller.Įach enclosure got 25 x 500GB 7,2k rpm SAS HDDs (3Gbit/s) and a redundant connection to the controller.Įach enclosure has a RAID6 array + 1 Hotspare. In front of me is a HP D元60e Gen8 with a Xeon E5 CPU, 24GB RAM and 4x 7,2k HDDs in RAID5. I've got a little performance problem and I can't imagine where the bottleneck is. I'm german but I realy like this forum and especially the Storage Threats.
